Why does my profile have 2 different URLs? How do I keep just one? I'm having some problems with facebook share when i click on the button under #2 link. The #2 link gives me unwanted opengraph values

1. mysite.com/component/comprofiler/userprofile/user.html
2. mysite.com/2014-03-08-09-33-55.html

How do I make it so that only #1 is being used across the my site?

From the attachment below (facebook debugger) the #2 profile link redirects to a 303 and that're where facebook gets the details for sharing. I do not experience this with #1. #1 works fine.

There's a URL to your own profile then a URL to other users profile. Different being the &user parameter. Aside from that no other profile URLs exist. Your second URL is not a URL to a profile. That's some sort of custom SEF/Redirect you have in place. Facebook share usually wants meta data to properly work. If you're using CB Connect then it has a feature for facebook fields to set the page meta data.

Hi Krileon,

Thank you for the response. We don't actually have any custom SEF in place except for the one Joomla has by default. We figured out what 2014-03-08-09-33-55 means - this was the alias of the Public Menu Item that was created as the "My Profile" link.

Speaking of Facebook shares, if a user wants to share his/her profile and clicks on "My Profile" link, the link does not work well (mysite.com/myprofile.html for example). Is there a way to hardcode the &user so Share works fine?

CB Connect automatically handles that if you're using a Facebook Social Plugin field with Scope as User. Using Scope as Page does exactly that, it uses the page data. If you're using a custom copy/paste of Facebooks social plugins then there's not much I can do to advise you without details of where you're using the share code as it'd need to be somewhere that supports substitutions so the profile URL can be manually constructed.
