Hi
As the owner of a group is displayed as the user id is it possible to show this as a field on a profile so that users will know the user of a group?

No, users groups are listed in the Groups tab under My Groups. There's no field or anything of the sort to display otherwise. Could certainly be developed using the API however in a new plugin.

As a side note you could use incubator project CB Query Field to query the GJ database and display their group ownership as a field. Although they can have more then 1 group it is still doable.
