[SOLVED] SQL action with regards to upgrade/downgrade a plan

10 years 6 months ago - 10 years 6 months ago #235717 by larbut
I need some advice regarding SQL actions.

I have a "Free Eternal Plan" where all registered users are placed, unless they choose to pay for a "1 year Subscriber Plan"

The Subscriber Plan is a child of the Free Plan.
The Subscriber plan expires after 1 year and the user is then moved back to the Free Plan.

I use SQL Actions to register the user within relevant user group in Jdownloads (to control access to downloads) Free Plan members are added to one group in Jdownloads, and Subscribers are added to another Group. Subscribers also stay in the Free Plan Jdownloads group.

The question is:
Should I put the SQL Action for "demoting from Subscriber Plan to Free Plan in the "Expiration" or "Deactivation" section in CBSubs?

I guess the question behind the question is:
What are the definitions of "Activation", "Renewal", "Expiration" and "Deactivation"?
Especially the difference between the to last ones.

Thank you for any help,
-Lars

Activation = Subscription is activated for the first time. This includes upgrades.

Renewal = Existing subscription (expired or otherwise) is renewed (manually or automatic)

Expiration = Existing subscription expires (only expiration, use cancel does not count)

Deactivation = Existing subscription cancelled (either by the user or the admin)

I suggest adding your reversal query to both Expiration and Deactivation.
