CBSubs 3.0 features questions

CBSubs 3.0 features questions was created by iapmo
We are currently considering upgrading to CBSubs 3.0 but I have a few questions on functionality that is not available in our current CBSubs install:

Is it possible to restrict access to plans based on certain criteria (i.e. senior plan only available for people born before a certain date and similar)?

In the same mold, is it possible to include fields in the registration form based on dynamic criteria (i.e. if a user selects a student plan, show a field to provide student ID etc.)?

Is it possible to assign more than one contact to a membership (i.e. have a primary contact, and several sub logins under the same plan)?

Is it possible to give the end user flexible pricing options (i.e. choose for how long they want to pay for the membership plan, 1 year vs 3 years)?

And finally, the big question: With moving to a GPL license, do we have access to all the source code so that any of these features that might not be available could be custom developed?

Yes, on the Workflows tab of your plans you can configure conditionals for a plans access. You'd condition it off your date field for example.

In the same mold, is it possible to include fields in the registration form based on dynamic criteria (i.e. if a user selects a student plan, show a field to provide student ID etc.)?

Yes, on the Workflows tab you can select what fields to hide if the plan is selected. You'd basically configure everything in opposites (Plan 1 hides Field B, Plan 2 hides Field A, etc..).

Is it possible to assign more than one contact to a membership (i.e. have a primary contact, and several sub logins under the same plan)?

I don't know what you mean by contact. A Joomla contact component entry? CB and CBSubs alike do not do this, but I suppose you could add a contact using CBSubs SQL Actions and inserting it directly into the database.

Is it possible to give the end user flexible pricing options (i.e. choose for how long they want to pay for the membership plan, 1 year vs 3 years)?

No, you need multiple plans with different durations for that.

And finally, the big question: With moving to a GPL license, do we have access to all the source code so that any of these features that might not be available could be custom developed?

Yes, the GPL has absolutely no encryption. You have full access to the source. GPL also has no license limitations so you can install it on as many sites as you want with as many users as you want.

I am assuming I already have my answer, but just to clarify. I mean if it is possible to assign more than one user to one membership plan. We would like to sell plans that allows several people to log in to the system using different credentials while still being considered parts of the same subscription.

Thanks for the reply.

No, there is no family plan or shared plan usage implemented. This is in our roadmap for a later release though as has been a popular request.
