Two Issues!

Two Issues! was created by LukeDouglas
How can a member cancel / deactivate their membership?

How can a member be upgraded without paying? Example: I have a client that had a contest and the winner gets a free years membership. I can do this by simply deleting their subscription and assigning them to the 'Members Only' group but there would be no functionality at the end of the free year to warn them about re-subscribing and I can't see how I can edit the subscription end date.

Any ideas?

If plan is configured properly user can cancel from frontend subscriptions tab.

Just visit the user profile from backend and give them a new membership from the subscriptions tab. This bypasses payment but everything else is the same.

Nant,

OK, we got the annual subscription figured out. However, on the cancellation, 'what' if the plan is not setup correctly and the ability to cancel is not on their profile page? Is there some setting where we can activate that capability?

CBSubs -> Settings -> Display -> Unsubscribe

make sure this setting is On.

Nant,

OK, I think we've done something 'out of standard operating procedures'. We manually deleted some test subscriptions. However, my account still got hit today with 5 test subscriptions, yet there is no subscription record. So we logged into Authorize.net, went to Recurring Billings and have manually deleted the recurring billing.

Now if a 'real' member were to cancel their subscription on the front-end, how will that be reflected on their subscription record when viewed at Paid Subscriptions / Subscriptions? Also, if they cancel on the front-end will the 'Recurring Billing' at Authorize.net be deleted or is this something that will have to be done manually?

Thanks and Merry Christmas!

Luke

Frontend cancellation will properly cancel the recurring billing stored in Authorize.net. Never do manual deletes within CBSubs. Also cancel a subscription properly either from backend (CB > User Management) or frontend (Subscriptions tab). You can do a delete by editing a user in CB > User Management and deleting the subscription after it has been cancelled.
