[SOLVED] Do exclusive plans have to have a parent?

9 years 10 months ago - 9 years 10 months ago #246295 by Freshpage
I want to give users the option to select either Plan A or Plan B.

Below is my current understanding after reading the documentation and searching the forums. Could you please just confirm that it is correct:
  1. I need to create a free parent plan, and have Plan A and B as children.
  2. It seems there is no setting in CB subs to make the parent plan "virtual" so that it doesn't appear to users.
  3. Using CSS, I can hide the parent from various places on the website, but it will still appear in emails and there is no easy way to prevent this.

I recommend just creating Plan A and Plan B as Exclusive parent plans. Why do you need the free parent plan? I'll need a better understanding of what plan setup you're wanting to suggest anything further. Parent plans are not categories and will behave like any other plan; please keep this is mind when using them.

Ah OK, sorry. I misunderstood this line: "Exclusive, other plans of same parent cannot be subscribed same time, but one subscription is mandatory".

I didn't realise top level plans could be exclusive of each other.

I've marked the thread solved.
