[SOLVED] XML installfile tag won't trigger; uninstallfile works fine

9 years 9 months ago - 9 years 9 months ago #246851 by wlc11
I'm working on a plugin, and can't get my installfile to trigger.

The uninstallfile works fine whether it's in the same file, or its own file -- but nothing will make the installfile's function, trigger.

I am also using the database tag -- it is working fine. The plugin itself is also fine... just the installfile tag.

I can't paste the code here (board errors), so here is a pastebin of the bbcode-markedup version of what I tried to post:

Edit: I see this: forge.joomlapolis.com/issues/3894 for 2.0, I'm using 1.9.1, so I wonder if I'm still affected...

I am indeed using 5.4, on both the dev and live machines, and consider it best overall to do so... We have already had to modify two core files for our use case, so any instruction on a patch would be appreciated.

That bug likely affects CB 1.x as well. This is only an issue on PHP 5.4 though. The below should fix it so the install and uninstall scripts will load fine again. There maybe more to the fix, but I can't say for sure as we've done quite a bit of upgrading to our XML usage.

IN: administrator/components/com_comprofiler/library/cb/cb.installer.php
ON: Line 850
FROM:
if ( $installfile_elemet ) {
TO:
if ( $installfile_elemet !== false ) {
ON: Line 871
FROM:
if( $uninstallfile_elemet ) {
TO:
if( $uninstallfile_elemet !== false ) {
