Hi,

How can I translate the Users tab label "Users" in GroupJive? I cannot find the word Users in any of the translation files.

It's substituted in from the override parameter in backend (which will be gone in 2.8). You can add a translation string for it though as follows to the GJ language files.

'Users' => 'Users',

I migrated to GJ 3.0.1 and got this kind of translation problems again, also with other tabs, like 'About', Files, Photo's etc. Is this still the way to go or is it changed after 2.8 like Kyle said in his previous answer on this thread a half year ago?

All strings are language strings. You can translate them by translating the GJ files in your CB language plugin. You can find the defaults below.

/components/com_comprofiler/plugin/user/plug_cbgroupjive/language/default_language

Yes, I thought also that it should be like that and had read all the documentation in your second link. But the sting "Users", "About" etc. are not in that files, so I guess nothing changes and I still had to add them manually.

They should be in those files unless they exist in core CB already. GJs "Users" and "User" usages are unique to GJ via language key so they should exist. Ensure you've latest GJ 2.x nightly installed.
