[SOLVED] Caching issues was created by solferry
Dear,

I am coping with an issue and can't seem to find out how to fix this.

On my homepage I have a menu "membermenu" with 5 options in it:

-Login
-Register
-My profile
-My messages
-Logout

Login and Register are only shown to "Guest" users where the other 3 are shown to Registered users.

When a user logs in via Login (link to a new page where user has to enter credentials) the user gets (as expected) a welcome page.
When, the user then returns to the homepage.. There is still "Login / Register" displayed.
Then when I press F5, the menu turns into "My profile/My messages/Logout".

I tried turning of cache (joomla cache turned off) and adding meta tags towards the site to prevent caching.. but for some reason I still need to press F5 before the correct menu items are displayed.

The meta tags I have added:

<meta http-equiv="Cache-Control" content="no-store" />
<meta http-equiv="cache-control" content="no-cache" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="0" />
<meta http-equiv="expires" content="Tue, 01 Jan 1980 1:00:00 GMT" />
<meta http-equiv="pragma" content="no-cache" />

Does anyone have a clue why I still need to refresh my page and maybe a good tip how I can solvet this?

Thanks!

CB doesn't handle menu output at all. This is entirely handled by Joomla it self. Ensure you've turned off page caching within Extensions > Plugins. If issue persists check if you've a 3rd party extension doing some form of caching (e.g. check your template). If issue still persists you could have server side caching and will need to contact your host. If still not resolved I recommend posting to Joomla.org forums or searching there to see if similar issue already reported.

Thanks.

Eventually it seems to be a 3rd party plugin as you said.. removed this one and all was fine again!
