I have an issue on several sites where instead of it saying Connections and Videos followed by a number over the canvas it says, incompatible block. Any ideas?

Disable non-core CB plugins 1 by 1 within CB > Plugin Management to see if it's a plugin doing it. Aside from that I've no idea. Try running the canvas layout tool within CB > Tools to reconfigure profiles for canvas display and see if that corrects it.
