I am doing some research on e-commerce extensions that are compatible with CB. So far I am finding that while some there were developed to sync with the built in Joomla user, I notice they do not sync with CB.
I was under the impression that CB essentially takes over the user account aspect of a Joomla site, so if a 3rd part extension is syncing to the built in Joomla user info that it would carry over to CB.

CB extends Joomla user profile with its own functionality. We still use Joomla user data such as id, username, name, email, etc.. If a 3rd party extension creates a user with Joomla API however then your user data has gone out of sync as that extension needs to use CB API.
