Session expired was created by degierd
When a browser session is expired the user need to re-login. Instead of the CB login, the joomla login is displayed and the user is re-directed to the joomla profile. How can I change that behaviour?

Ensure within Extensions > Plugins that "Community Builder System plugin" is public and published. Next edit it and under Parse URLs ensure "Redirect URLs" is set to "Enabled". You may need to do the same for "Rewrite URLs" if issue persists as your issue is likely Joomla menu item access protection kicking in.

Yes, actually I had all the settings correct, except for the Rewrite URL's. Changing that fixed it. :-)

Now, related to that, how can I keep the connection with CB alive without manually refreshing the page? Like for example the Activity stream automatically reloaded, maybe via ajax or something?

The login session is entirely handled by Joomla. You'll need some sort of Joomla system plugin for that is my best guess. However, it maybe better to just increase the session duration so they don't expire so quickly. The duration can be increased in Joomla global configuration.
