On one site where we have CB installed, for all new uses when they click on the confirmation email link they are getting:

0 Error decoding JSON data Syntax Error

If you click on the link a 2nd time in the email it works and the user is confirmed.

Attached is a copy of the call stack from that error page (with error reporting on).

We have modified the "Pending Email Body" area, and it includes the following line for the link:

<p><a href="[CONFIRM]">[CONFIRM]</a></p>

Any ideas what might be causing this?

It's a Joomla bug. See the below for a fix.

Not sure how it's happening for a new user though. Are you displaying any of the params fields (e.g. language, editor, etc..) during registration?

Thanks for posting that reference to the other ticket.

Although I agree that it isn't completely 'logical' that existing data in the params field would cause a problem, we did have a 'different' user-manager extension installed on this site and it looks like it must have messed up the params area.
We just used the query to replace all the params with "{}" (which is fine, because we don't allow users to change those), and it's all working properly now.

Thanks.
