Are there any good alternatives for uddeIM private messaging that also integrate well with CB 2.0?
uddeIM has basic functionalities but I don't like the look and feel. The code is not MVC so the modify the layout I need to modify core files.

Not that I'm aware. There isn't very many PMS extensions to begin with. Eventually CB Activity will support Conversations though using Comment streams which is like a private message system and messenger combined.

Not anytime soon. Rewrite for CB Activity was just released. My focus is now on updating other plugins.
