What you'll need to do is make a copy of the default template folder. Rename it to something like "custom". Next delete every file in "custom" except index.php and group.php. Now select "custom" as your template within GJ > Parameters > General. You can now edit the group.php file and adjust where the description will display as needed (by default it's on line 186).
