Community Builder - Language specific alphabetic sequence of field values

6 years 4 months ago - 6 years 4 months ago #300698 by erichburkhard
On my (CB) website I use drop-down fields for different purposes. E.g. I have set up a field of this type to show a list of countries, in order the user can select a single one. The 'problem' is now the language specific alphabetic sequence of these country values....Of course: Under the 'Global' tab of such a field I can specify the sequence of all listed countries. But this sequence only fits for a certain language:

A good example is the alphabetic sequence of the ID's: '_UE_FRANCE' and '_UE_GERMANY'

if I set up the value sequence as follows (under the 'Global' tab):

1.) _UE_FRANCE' = 'France'
2.) _UE_GERMANY' = 'Germany'

...the country list will be shown correctly in English.....but If I change my website language to German the list will be shown like this:

1) 'Frankreich'
2) 'Deutschland'

...which is not correct

...is there any possibility to achieve this?

regards

Nope, you'd typically order them by country code though and not by their name. The ordering for select options is also a separate ordering and is not alphabetical.
