Choosing a payment gateway (s) specific to a subscription

6 years 4 months ago #300730 by cliffvt
I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to choose a specific payment gateway for a particular subscription - so for example, if you are accepting a donation, I never want the "offline" or any other method of payment to be offered as options, only a specific one, for example the PayPal or Worldpay gateway etc..

Thanks!

By the way, I did think of using the Owner ID but the system does show "Owner id (only supported: 0 for now)" so I guess that's not available?

The Owner ID parameter is the only way to do this. Plans with the same Owner ID of a gateway will be able to be paid by that gateway. So for example if you've a gateway with owner id of 1 and a plan with owner id of 2 it won't be able to be paid by that gateway. You will likely need to duplicate your gateways. Example as follows.

Gateway 1 (offline) - Owner ID: 1
Gateway 2 (paypal) - Owner ID: 1
Gateway 3 (paypal) - Owner ID: 2

Next for plans you want to have offline gateway support set their Owner ID to 1. For plans you don't want to have offline gateway support set their Owner ID to 2. In the above gateways 2 and 3 are configured exactly the same.

There's no functionality at this time to assign gateways to plans or exclude gateways from plans beyond using Owner ID.

OK that makes perfect sense, thank you! I guess would be a good idea to remove the wording "Owner id (only supported: 0 for now) in future CB Subs releases ;)

Thanks for your time in answering.

Probably, but it's meant to be a temporary solution. Believe the original intent was to assign it to something else (maybe user id specific? I don't know). For now it works as described above, but we'll likely implement actual parameters for plans to be able to exclude gateways from them, which would be easier to configure and avoid duplicate gateways.
