[SOLVED] MyCommunity Template Problem in IE9

12 years 10 months ago - 12 years 9 months ago #167911 by kambui123
Hi Support:
My client's site: www.itizwhutitiz.com/joomla/ looks odd in IE9. The middle column starts very low on the page. You have to scroll down to see anything. Any suggestions? Everything is fine in IE8 and Firefox. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. By the way the client loves the template.

Please ensure you're using the latest release of MyCommunity. If already are please make the below change.

IN: /templates/mycommunity/index.php
ON: Line 58
FROM:
#content { float:left; width: 99.8%!important; width: auto; }
TO:
#content { float:left; width: 99.7%!important; width: auto; }

Confirmed the above should display appropriately in IE9. If still not displaying properly try setting width: auto !important; instead.

Bad News!:( It didn't work in IE9. It worked in IE8. I changed the code to auto as well and it's still doing the same thing. Do you have any other suggestions?

Do you have any other suggestions?

Just dial back the width until it works. For example try 99.6, 99.5, etc... Using the developer tools and inline editing was able to confirm the below appeared to function.
#content { float:left; width: auto!important; width: auto; }

OR
#content { float:left; width: 99.7%!important; width: auto; }

Beyond this am unsure what more to suggest.

Are you sure that is the right line in the code to change? Even when I change the width to say 50% I don't see a change in the alignment in the middle column. It seems like the width should change regardless. Please let me know after you double check on your end. Thanks.
