[#2715] How do I restore Country & State Fields?

I deleted the user fields for Country and State in CB that came with the initial install, not realizing they would be required to charge tax in CBSubs. Can you tell me how I can restore these?

Currently when someone is checking out and the required invoice form comes up, country is working properly by showing a full list in the drop down, but U.S. States is empty with nothing to select.

I created a new cb_state field, entered all the states and matched it up with my new field in invoice, but it still shows an empty drop down if the user did not fill in the state in their initial registration.

(I'm assuming this is happening because I deleted the state and country fields in user fields, but I suppose it could be something else.)

You deleted the _comprofiler_countries and _comprofiler_provinces database tables? Don't understand, there is no state and country field except for "cb_subs_inv_address_state" and "cb_subs_inv_address_country" created by CBSubs, which can be restore by re-installing CBSubs (no need to uninstall, just install over-top it self). If you delete the database tables those can be restored by re-installing CBSubs Tax integration.

I think I understand. I'm doing an upgrade now that includes the tax plugin and hopefully that will restore anything I messed up. I'll keep you posted. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly.

I was wrong... this is still not working correctly. New user registers - state and country is not requested in initial registration. Then user logs in and selects a subscription. At that point the invoicing address form pops up and United States is set as a default (not sure why though). Since United States is already selects, user then clicks State/Providence and the drop down is empty. States are not populating.

BUT, if I select a different country, and then go back and select United States, then the states drop down populates. Seems to have something to do with United States being set as a default in the invoice country field?

We are in the U.S., so it would be great if it could stay the default, but the states field needs to populate with U.S. as default...

I am on the newest releases of CB & CBSubs, and just updated tax last week as well.

I removed United States from being the default country under the tax plugin and now States populates when United States is selected. Anyway I can have United States as the default and have States populate?

I tried making a user field in CBSubs with all the states listed and then crossed referenced them in the invoice admin screen, but that didn't work for me either.
