How do I show two fields as one line in lists?

12 years 4 months ago #187013 by fribse2011
In some situations I would like to show two fields as one field, eg. in the address.
Postal code and city are correlated.
The city is a CB query field, and the value is derived from the postal code.
When I display them in a CB list it is displayed as:

Code
City

I would like it to display as
Code City

I do not want to use a seperate column for it, as in this case, that wouldn't make sense.

Best regards

Combine them in a delimiter field using substitutions (e.g. [cb_code] [cb_city]) then add that delimiter field to your userlist.

Ahaa, works perfectly!
I can foresee a problem though if I want to use it for more than just that, as it complains in the list view if the field is not displayed on the profile. I can imagine fields of this kind, that I want to construct for the lists, but not be visible in the profile.
But for the current purpose it's perfect.

If you want to use fields in substitutions, but not be shown on profile you can move them to a tab that's in a not shown on profile position. This would allow them to continue to function substitution wise, but won't actually be visible on their profile.
