Logged In ...but not logged in was created by ellare
This user has a confirmed user name and password in the backend in both joomla core users and CB users. But when logging in the front end of site with username or email (as my CB install is configured to allow) - the user gets this CONFUSING!! message

3 error messages on one screen:
"user name and password do not match or you do not have an account yet"
"you have successfully log in"
"you must log in first"



What causes this and how to fix it?


I ended up having to completely delete the user in the backend and recreate the user account in the backend. The confirm email was sent, the user confirmed and then could get into site.

My guess is you've something installed that's conflicting or interrupting the login process. Check Joomla plugin manager for 3rd party User and System plugins then try disabling them 1 by 1 until resolved. If not resolved then repeat the same for 3rd party CB plugins.
