[SOLVED] confirm link not working as expected

12 years 1 month ago - 12 years 1 month ago #194092 by chupacabra
Hi,

I hope you can help mw with this strange situation I have when registering a new user through CB_login module. When testing the user registration I register with name, email and PW I do get an email to confirm the email adres.
When I click the confirmation link I notice:
- In the front-end I am redirected to: domain.nl/component/users/?view=login
- I do not get the message that the account is confirmed and enabled
- When I again click the link in the mail I get
domain.nl/index.php?option=com_comprofiler&task=confirm&confirmcode=regebfa55879169175a1d831cadd52b9b1901f0e173
- It stated that the account is activated and I can now login.
However Looking at joomla user manager:
- I see the new user created but still two red dots under activated and the other field "Ingeschakeld" (dutch)

Any idea how I need to fix this?
I am running on joomla 2.5.1 and CB 1.8

The Plugin CB menu is set to public.. I am out of options? Anybody any idea? Can it have to do with missing permissions on folders / files?
Thanks!
Otto

Maybe you are having a problem with another extension. Have you tried disabling/unpublishing other extensions one by one?

Please disable all SEO Settings within Backend > Site > Global Configuration > Site and confirm if issue persists.

Site is Community builder 1.8 only on Joomla 2.5.1. It worked before, but now not longer. When creating a new user I do get an email to confirm the registration. After clicking the confirm link I see in community builder user management:
- the confirmed checkbox is geen (ok)
- The enabled still shows a red cross (X)
Then when looking at the Joomla User manager I see
- Both columns "enabled" and "Activated" show red (not activated and not enabled).

So it seems then when clicking the confirm link in the email the user status does get confirmed, but the the user is not activated and enabled.

I am lost. No Idea where to look further. I have disabled all SEO en SEF stuff. Also the apache error log does not show any errors...

I think I found the problem. Somewhere hidden in the CB plugins I had a autoaction configured. This was supposed to run onafterprofileedit but it seems it already kicks in even before a user is able to edit his profile (on account acivation). I disbled this automatic redirect and now the issue is gone..

Anyway thanks to everybody looking into this. Much appeciated.

Yeah, there's a bug where the after profile update trigger is firing at locations it shouldn't. We're fixing that for CB 1.8.1. So actions acting on before/after profile update triggers may behave oddly.
