Transfer from old site to new site - How?

12 years 1 month ago #195728 by Diesel9a1
I am about ready to transfer my users and their details, across to my new site. I have the following:
OLD SITE:
J1.5.23
CB1.8
AEC 1.0b
Kunena 1.7.2
JACL - Boo Hiss

NEW SITE:
J2.5.3
CB1.8
AEC 1.0b
Kunena 1.7.2

I assume there is no easy way to transfer the users across?
Are the table structures the same?
Which tables do I need for CB to work and the users to be intact?
- All AEC tables
- All CB tables
- All Kunena tables
- Joomla user and ACL tables - Which ones?

Are there any redundant columns in the old mysql tables? If so, what are they?

I understand that I will have to at least manually re-assign each users ACL due to J2.5.3 replacing JACL.

I am happy working with phpmyadmin - as well as making a backup of everything BEFORE I START!

Thanks

Use jUpgrade to migrate your install to J2.5. Any other migration method is not supported. If you insist on using direct database migration you're on your own and best I can suggest is move the tables so the table structure is present then use CB Juice to move the users.

So using jupgrade will effectively put the tables into j2.5 format, then in theory just copy these upgraded tables over the top of the new j2.5.3 tables using phpmyadmin.

Which tables - besides comprofiler ones, are to do with the ACL and linking to CB?

jUpgrade will migrate the data and correct the ACL for CB. You shouldn't have to even touch the database tables unless you've a 3rd party extension with no jUpgrade support.
