[SOLVED] textarea fields pb was created by Pere LK
Hi,
I have a very bad pb here. I have open and save 2 old textarea (cb1.8) field without any change and their mySQL type are set to varchar(255) and make all my content vanish !
I have test with a new textarea (upgrade to 1.8.1) but I don't have this pb on this new field...
How a field could change his type !!!! i don't hink it's related to the 1.8.1 version but I don't want this to happen again.

I'm waiting for a backup of my data but it still strange !

Only plugins can change the type or if it was changed in database manually. An old release of CB Core Fields Ajax changed their types, but that's already fixed in latest (uninstall and re-install latest to resolve if is even installed).

I see my ajax version is 1.3.0... I'm waiting for data backup and then I will update but I still don't understand why these fields have change into varchar and not the last I create.

edit: changetype manually OK

I've no idea what specifically changed it. It's supposed to be mediumtext in database. You can fix it manually and set it to mediumtext in database if need be.

Okay.
I have unistall ajax core field v1.3, install v1.4.2 and open/save textarea field : no change. It seems to be okay.

Thanks for the reactivity as usual !

Have you think about a updater for your plug-in into the CB interface ?
