Interesting. Well, I've tested in IE6,7,8, Chrome, Safari and FF on XP and Safari 4, 5, 6, FF on Mac. The only one that has any issue is IE6 which pops up a query about being redirected to a non-secure URL.
If it were just adjusting the module then that would be fine but unfortunately the adjustment requires hacking/editing com_comprofiler/comprofiler.php to handle the login redirect properly.

We won't be fixing this parameter as we still believe in our original assessment (security risk and it's not appropriate to switchover to HTTP after being switched to HTTPS, this should be manual user input). We'll be removing the parameter with CB 2.0 to avoid confusion.
