Exporting/Importing CB User Database was created by mattchew61
Hi,

I need to export a CB user database from a dev site to a Live site. I need to do it quickly too because the Live Site's users are outdated and its causing big issues with my customers. The stats for the two sites are below:

Dev Site with the CB User database to be exported:
Joomla Version 1.5.22
CB 1.3.1

Live Site with the CB User database that needs to be updated:
Joomla Version 1.5.26
CB 1.8.1

How do I export the CB User database from the Dev site and import it to the Live Site? What steps should I take? I'm assuming backing up both sites first, then what?

Thanks!

Matthew

CB Juice is the best way to do this, but you should update your 1.3.1 site to 1.8.1 before doing this. Aside 3rd party plugin CB Juice there is no import/export.

Hey Kyle!

Thanks for the reply. Question: My live site is an update of the old site, but for some weird reason many of the users did not make it from the old site to the live site. The live site has been active for a week and there are new members now. If I import the user database from the old site to the live site, will those new members get deleted?

Thanks!

No, simply export the users that don't exist on your new site then import only those users. I don't have any experience with CB Juice so I can't tell you the specific workflows, but you can find the CB Juice forums below if you need further information on its usage.
