Hide tab to group of users

11 years 6 months ago #213551 by aparigi
Hide tab to group of users was created by aparigi
Hi,

i have this situation in my site.

Group 1
User Profile
Tab shown: My Info / My article / Blogs

Group 2
User Profile
Tab shown: My Info / Blogs

The users of the Group 2 have to see the Tab “My Article” of the users of Group 1, and, in the same time, they do not have the “My Article” Tab visible on their profile.

Is it possible? I have also CBSubs.

Thanks in advance
Alessandro

What are Group 1 and 2? Usergroups? Are you distinguishing user type with a CBSubs plan? or maybe a field value? It's possible if using CBSubs to determine type or with CB Conditional if using a field to determine type.

Thanks for the answer.
Let me explain better:
Group 1 and Group 2 are usergroups and i can distinguish them with different CBSubsplan. Group 1 are the Teachers and Group 2 are the Students, so Group 1 with a free lifetime plan while Group 2 with a normal paid plan.

Can, the users of Group 1, have the Tab "My article", (in my site it is "My Courses"), in their profile, that can be seen also by the users belonging to the Group 2 and, in the same time the users of the Group 2 do not need the same Tab in their profile? It seems yes, from your answer, but how to do?

I studied also the doc but I did not manage to understand.
Thanks.

Yes, lets assume Group 1 is Teachers plan. Using CBSubs Fields Tabs Protection you can protect the My Articles tab to be based off the owners subscription using detailed protection then select the Teachers plan (ensure the owner is also subject to this protection).
