[SOLVED] Auto Actions are not working was created by dietrijd@mcmaster.ca
I've installed the Auto Actions plugin, published the plugin within CB and created two actions. At this point the actions are just to see if this system is working, and it does not appear to be. Both actions are also published.

The first is to insert a row (query) in an external database upon first login. I've switched this to 'onDuringLogin' just to make it easier to recreate. It does not insert a row or give an error.

The second is purely to see something happen. Also set to onDuringLogin, this action executes PHP code (eval). The code is pretty simple; die();. This also does nothing.

What can I check? Where is the error output supposed to show up if there's an error with the query / script?

Please advise

Thank you,

Folks... This doesn't seem to be a challenging question. How do I debug this stuff?

I've waited more than 24 hours, and this has fallen off the first page.

Please respond.

Please provide a screenshot of your entire auto action configuration. Often the reason it fails is wrong trigger used or the conditional isn't proper substitutions.

For code actions die an exit will do nothing. The code is put inside of ob_start/clean to prevent it from causing issues. You need to do an echo or return for example then set the auto actions output to display the results. It's not the same as coding PHP in an IDE for example as you've to take into consideration it's secured to prevent problems.

Sorry for the delay; sometimes posts are missed, feel free to PM me your support topic if I should happen to miss it.

Hi krileon,

Thanks for getting back to me. As it turns out it doesn't matter what you put in Auto Actions, or anything in CB for that matter, if you are using the standard Joomla Login module and not the CB Login module.

I couldn't see the forest for the trees!

My apologies. Hopefully this helps someone else!
