[SOLVED] Getting Trigger to Fire prior to login / session cookie

11 years 5 months ago - 11 years 5 months ago #215198 by cberry1971
I have a trigger which assigns user group 1 to user A based on a connection made by user B.

Once user A is a member of user group 1 they can access different parts of the site.

Right now the trigger is set to fires upon login of user A. the problem is that the session cookie is already stored and the user A has to logout and log back in in order to access the parts of the site.

Is there another place to put this trigger so upon login, user A has immediate access and the trigger beats the session cookie?

Thx.

Latest CB Auto Actions should reset their session with the new usergroup so this shouldn't matter. Please ensure you're using the latest release.

Perhaps it could help if I outline the steps:

1. User B > Profile > Manage Connections> User A > Type > "Judge"

2. query field cb_connectiontypes queries whether the user type = Judge (screeenshot 1)

3. "Judge User Group" Auto Action is INTENDED to assign User A to Judge User Group (screenshot 2)
Triggers: onDuringLogin,onAfterLogin,onBeforeLogin (JUST TRYING TO GET ONE TO WORK)

4. User A logs in and does not see the Judge menu item. Yes in the backend they are Usergroup Judge. (screenshot 3)

5. User A logs out, and logs back in and now can see the Judge menu item (screenshot 4)

Thanks for your help.

Please try with only onAfterLogin. You need to be using CB Auto Actions 3.1.3 (latest) for it to properly update their session. If still not working will take a look in source and see why it stopped working properly. Please also provide Joomla version.
