Good morning,

When you see a new private message notification in the modal window 

 

and go to this message and then after clicking the "Back" button 

 

we get this effect 



I don't think this is the intended effect. ;-)

It's not intended. The back button needs to just be completely removed as it's an old concept we don't really need to be providing anymore (browser history and navigation is sufficient here).
