Photos Sent In PM's Are Displayed In Activity Feed

1 month 2 hours ago #337651 by dirtydavid
We have just been informed that if a user sends a Private Message to another user and attaches a new photo from their device, that photo is added to the Site Activity Stream. This is causing some embarrassment as people have been sharing "Private" images,
How can we turn this activity off?

That certainly shouldn't be happening. Have added additional hard checks for PM assets into CB Activity to prevent PM assets of any kind from being able to log activity regardless of where they come from. Please update to latest CB Activity build release and this will be fixed.

forge.joomlapolis.com/issues/9396

Your existing activity where this has happened will be suppressed with a "Something Went Wrong!" error and any notifications with a PM adjacent asset like for the activity will be suppressed as well. Future uploads will not create such activity at all.

We will work on releasing a stable minor release as well instead of just a build release.

Have also now released CB Activity 6.1.1 with the fix.

Note for everyone concerning this issue. PM galleries are default disabled and global gallery activity is default disabled. This bug is present when both PM galleries are enabled and global gallery activity logging is enabled. Simply enabling Profile or Group gallery activity logging will not trigger the bug.
