I am not sure to understand, but anyway I am still trying to sort out the issue.

In the past we were supposed to publish only CB login Module and unpublish Joomla one. Therefore I have tested several combinaison :
  • Both published and assigned to a module position.
CB login Publish and assigned to a module position with Joomla login module published and not assigne to a position.
CB login Publish and assigned to a module position with Joomla login module unplublised

No change with "lost userid/password"

Further to you advice I have published within my main menu the CB login menu (Community Builder » login). It was previously published but not displayed on site.

No change as well with "lost userid/password". I can alway identify with the displayed module. But If I want to identify using the Community Builder » login menu, then I have directly the message"Vous n'êtes pas autorisé à voir le contenu de cette page !" (you are not allowed to see this page),

I am starting to think I will have to regenerate the site from scratch to see.

You have a menu item that has a menu alias of "connexion". You need to find out what that menu item is and what its menu type is set to. As that's the menu item it's trying to access and use. This is easier to see if SEF is turned off as you'll be able to see the Itemid and compare it to your menu items.

The forgot login page can't be used if "Login Method" is set to "None" within CB > Configuration > General. That's the only access check we have for that page. Aside from that the access checks would be entirely Joomla related in regards to the menu items access.

Well, I finally regenerate the site from scratch in a test position by reloading latest version of joomla and latest version of all the components, modules and plugins I am using.

Everything was working fine.

I then attached the existing data base to the new "site" and got the same result : CB Login Module is working fine and "Lost password" as well.

The trouble was not in the data base, published ou not published modules, SEF or not SEF. The trouble was in the files somewhere.

I then deleted all files and directories (but .htaccess, config.php, and image directory) and loaded the files and directories from the "regenerated" site.

I do not have anymore problem with the CB lost password feature.
