unexpected automatic emails

Actually, the email was not the "automatic renewal" email in the workflow of the plan but the text from the "manual renewal" I have included the description below but what I'm trying to figure out is how just looking at their user in the user management triggered this and also why it sent so many copies of the email.

Thanks,

Stan

Email at each manual renewal
This is the email that can be sent when someone renews manualy this subscription (not the first time), by either having his corresponding payment completed, or for free periods or subscriptions, having the subscription re-activated. Leave blank for no email sent.

Only reason for it to send multiple copies I suppose is if they maybe refreshed the page multiple times or maybe manually renewed multiple times in a row. Are you able to duplicate this behavior by doing either of those steps?

Kyle,

The user never went there. All 9 emails were stimulated by me going only once to his user profile as far as I can tell. I just know that I was working in the backend and looking at his profile once and then all of a sudden I saw 9 emails in my inbox. (I receive a bcc for any emails sent so that I can monitor them)
This is why it has been so strange and we are almost scared to look at any user's profile in the backend.

Please upgrade to CBSubs 4.0 RC2 and see if your issue persists. I can't see a cause for this except maybe multiple plans setup to send emails all expiring at the same time.
