[SOLVED] CB Invite not working via SMTP

Mail Server (Joomla mail server settings):

Mailer: PHP Mail


Joomla test email: working :cheer:
CB Mass Emailer (via CB user management): working :cheer:
CB Invite: working :cheer:

Mail Server (Joomla server settings):

Mailer: SMTP
SMTP Security: SSL
Port: 465

Joomla test email: working :cheer:
CB Mass Emailer (via CB user management): working :cheer:
CB Invite: not working :(


Error

Invite failed to send! Error: Mailer failed to send.

Ensure you've latest nightly CB Invites found below installed.

www.joomlapolis.com/downloads/doc_details/738-cb-invites-nightly-release

It's using the same API as those other emails so it should work exactly the same.

Thanks Kyle,

I just installed the nightly CB Invite but still the sam error..Invite failed to send! Error: Mailer failed to send.

The invite emails by default sends from the user sending the invite. To change this behavior you need to configure the from email address within CB Invites > Parameters > Email. It's possible your mailer won't allow outbound emails from external domains and you'll need to configure that.

Hi,

Just to clarify, are you speaking of the setting now located at:
Community Builder->Plugin Management->GroupJive (from Plug-in List)->Parameters (tab)->Notifications (tab)->General (tab), using the 'From Name' and 'From Email Address' fields, correct?

I ask because I too am having difficulty with the Invite Email not being sent, regardless if the recipient is an existing registered user or not.

This is a new site using the latest software versions:
Joomla 3.5.1
CB 2.0.14
CB Gallery 1.0.6
CB Footer 1.0.0
CB AutoActions 6.3.5
CB Privacy 4.0.3
GJ 3.0.1+build.2016.07.01 (all GJ plugins @ 3.0.1)
Template: Gantry 4.1.29
