Adding old history was created by swinnie
What would be the best way to enter historical events like family gatherings, concerts, sporting events, etc. with pictures, dates and have all information appear chronologically.

CB GroupJive Events provides events for groups. Probably not quite what you're looking for, but yes I suppose you could use it for that. Sounds like you're needing a full fledged event extension though. Recommend checking the JED below.

If this is only intended for you to supply the events then you could also just use a Google Calendar and embed it on your site.
