It deleted the invites, but also deleted the group.

Deleting a group is supposed to delete a group. Please provide exact steps you took. I'm sorry, but I'm not understanding what your issue is exactly.

Sorry I was busy but.. Yes, it is delete groups so it made the right action. The only thing is there is no option to remove invite and it is next to accept. I can alter file to make more sense as it is probably very unlikely that a user would as Admin would run into this issue frequently.

I'm not able to confirm your issue. Deleting an invite in GJ 2.5.2 does not delete the group. Did you edit the plugin perhaps? I recommend re-installing GJ 2.5.2 to remove any core edits.

Unfortunately I have altered code in the plugin and am working under an environment that gives me limited time to dig into the details. I will have to leave as is and when I have more down time on my own I will look into it. So you are probably right.
