Upgrades/Renewals

Sorry we have calendar year plans.

So I could have someone with a Plan A that's valid until December 31, 2015 and have the upgrade available for Plan B and when they "upgrade", they have Plan B until December 31, 2016?

That was the issue I was having. I could not figure out how to get the upgrade to be available in November but for the following year.

For that issue you need to adjust "Bonus time before first period start (for calendar-based durations)". For example you can set it to 2 Months and if a user subscribes to the plan 2 months before the year ends they'll get those 2 months free and be upgraded through next year.

Hmmm I don't want that to happen to everyone who has that plan though. I only want the people upgrading to be able to upgrade to a different plan for the following year.

It will apply to purchases of the plan right before it's about to end. So for example if I am purchasing it just before the end of the year (whether an upgrade or a new purchase) I get those months free and it subscribes me for next year. It doesn't know you're coming from XYZ plan and toggle off based off some condition; that functionality doesn't exist.

Okay. I would still like people to have to pay for Year 2015 even though they are paying in say November. But I just don't want someone to have to pay for Year 2015 twice when they do an upgrade. That is what is happening right now.

The only way to avoid that is to use the parameter as described above. There's no alternative. It specifically is to allow upgrade to next year instead of current if the current is about to end.
