[#6555] Problems after upgrade to CB 2

I've no idea then. It maybe just a bug with Joomla 2.5. Enable debug mode and maximum error reporting in Joomla global configuration then see if login throws an error of any kind. If nothing check server error log after login to see if any fatal errors occurred. With your clone working I'm guessing it maybe some sort of configuration issue somewhere; maybe an htaccess file is doing a redirect?

When the error reporting is set to "maximum", I can't complete the registration form as I get a popup with the following error (see attached screenshot):

Session expired or cookies are not enabled in your browser. Please press "reload page" in your browser, and enable cookies in your browser. Please refresh/reload page before filling-in.

I had opened the browser in incognito mode in Chrome, and obviously my cookies are not disabled as I am able to register an account just fine if the error reporting isn't set to "maximum" (but of course, the password problem persists).

On an additional note, I created another exact clone of the website, but this time within the https://www domain name that the live site is also in. Unlike the clone which was in a non-https subdomain, this one does have the password-problem as well.

I'm including here the (what I assume to be relevant part of) the error log for two minutes in which I created an account, and confirmed it. I don't know what to look for myself, perhaps you can make sense out of it?

Also, I noticed that there's a new build of Community Builder available.

If I update CB to the new build, will the issue of the mandatory profile link be corrected and can the related menu item be edited again?

I disabled "register long arrays" in PHP, as that was giving alot of errors in the server logs.

I tried creating an account again, but the password problem still persists. I took the error logs of the minutes in which I created the account:
[Sat Apr 01 14:44:06 2017] [error] [client 123.252.211.114] File does not exist: /opt/.../wp-login.php

[Sat Apr 01 14:44:13 2017] [error] [client 81.245.155.207] File does not exist: /opt/.../img, referer: https://www.[URL]/index.php/en/home/3-nod-info/nod-general-info/25-membership

[Sat Apr 01 14:45:50 2017] [error] [client 192.187.109.242] File does not exist: /opt/.../modules

The /img folder is not found because it's looking in .org/map/img while it's in .org/img but that's because it's a clone that is installed in a different map, and is not going to be related to the login problem anyway.

The non-existing wp-login.php, which seems to be related to WordPress but that isn't and never has been on the server (it is called upon by a different IP so not by me), is searched for in the root map of the domain name, however, where such a file should never have been anyway. I presume hacker scripts that are automatically looking for a file like that on any website.

Other than that, I find this:
[Sat Apr 01 14:42:01 2017] [warn] RSA server certificate CommonName (CN) `[correct domain name]' does NOT match server name!?

I don't know what that means, but that came 2 minutes before I tried to register an account again.

You've no errors in your log causing your password problem. Your password problem is likely from something you've installed (3rd party Joomla system or user plugin) or a bug in Joomla it self. Aside from that I don't know what more to tell you as again you're using an EOL release of Joomla that isn't supported anymore by Joomla or us. Try doing a quick 2.5 to 3.x migration on your clone and see if your issue persists.

If I update CB to the new build, will the issue of the mandatory profile link be corrected and can the related menu item be edited again?

Yes, it fixes empty &user= causing profile URLs to break.

Hello,

I will try that quick upgrade to Joomla 3 indeed. I have in the meantime received confirmation from the provider that they will be able to put me on a newer server (with a newer version of PHP) at the end of this month or the beginning of May.

However, there is another issue first:

I just downloaded the latest build of CB and installed it on Joomla. The install goes normal, but it when it's finished it says: "Failed to uninstall self. Please uninstall manually."

When I go to the control panel of CB, I see this:

Your version is 2.1.2+build.2017.02.08.01.14.28.ec3d63d1f
Latest version 2.1.2+build.2017.03.31.23.49.38.3bf553c4c

The profile link issue is not resolved either.

I did not uninstall CB first before installing the new version, is that something I need to do (and if so, will all user data remain intact?). I tried 3 times to install the new version of CB, but it's the same each time.

I have tried this update of CB only in the clone site so far, not the live site.
