[#6535] How to map Joomla category language setting to CB user's lang_tag for blogging.

7 years 1 month ago - 7 years 1 month ago #292171 by MMDoege
Hello,

this is not an error related topic but however there's one who can get me a hand on this and direct me.

I wonder what the easiest way is to let user's select Joomla categories for to blog in by their profile language (lang_tag).
(Joomla) Blog categories differ in language settings as this is required by the overall site concept.

Is it required to assign user to a specific user group or ACL (say "registered, it-IT or registered, en-US") when registering using CB Auto Action?
And to set relevant categories to the same access pattern? Does this work for CB Blog at all?

A simpler methode to obtain this?

Current settings: Blog mode=Joomla, Access=Registered)

Thank' a lot!

CB Blogs does not check language when querying for available categories at this time. It only checks view access level. So yes using an ACL for language could work. Another option is to break your categories up into languages and let the user decide. Example as follows.

Blogs
- English
- - English Category 1
- Spanish
- - Spanish Category 1

Have also added a feature ticket to implement language checking.
