Yes, I do have another site - it is a beta site for our main site. It hasn't been touched in months and I just went in and tried and it gave me the same result.

I PM'd you the beta site details with login credentials if you'd like to try yourself.

Checked using my login state and worked perfectly fine for me on your site (have cleared the cache after testing). So seams isolated to you specifically. I'm not sure what could be causing this on your computer or device. Do you've another computer you can try?

Dang!

I tried it yesterday using another PC and got the same result - regardless of the browser. I'm going to delete my browser cache to see if that makes a difference.

So I deleted my browser cache (all of it - back to the beginning of time) and tried again. No luck. I did notice that after I tried the update, I went back to the browser tab that had me logged into Joomlapolis and I had been logged off. I needed to input my credentials again. This happened again after I clicked the "will refresh in a day" little icon to force the refresh.

I've no idea. I'm unable to replicate your issue even on your own site. There's nothing really special to it as it just makes a simple JSONP ajax call to grab the install from web data. This works even when using private browsing modes if logged in without that browser session.
