How to create a new field in multilangual ?

9 years 2 months ago #256089 by mchatry
Hi everybody,

I'm looking for a solution to create a new multilingual field in community builder.

I'm working on a multiple language website. 2 language for the instance (French and english).

At the first step of registering I need to ask the country of the new user.

So I create a new field in CB named "cb_pays" Title "pays" for the french version.

How can I change the language of this field when the user choose the english version ?

I tryied with falang, but it seems that it does not recognize CB.

Somebody to help me ?

Happy new year,

Many thanks,

Marc

See here: www.joomlapolis.com/support/faq/110-language-localization/18228-cb-language-plugins

You can create your own language plugin(s), in which you can define all your multilingual fields. It also works if you edit the standard language plugins, but your changes will be lost each time the plugin is updated an you'll have to add them again.

Sorry, but I really not understand...

I do not want to translate all the CB

The french language is working well when the user click on the flag

I only just want to translate a new fiel that I have created.

I need to translate the Title and the values.

Could you explain me a simple way to do this please ??

Many thanks for your patience

Yeah, we need a overwrite plugin ( cb tutorial youtube ) in the end.
But first of all i´m wondering if there is any possibility to chance the "tab" or "field" titels/names? They are not mentioned in the language.php file.

Thank you!

I really do not understant anything.

Of course I've the french language in my files.

However, I understand that I can Change any word in my language.

But my question is for example to change the email registration content.

I've got it only in english in the configuration of CB

But how can I change it ??

I understand that that I can add variables in my language files,

Say for example UE_EMAIL_HEADER...

How do I have to declare it in the content ?

I tried with it like this, but of course it appears in the message...

And where do I have to had it in the language file ?

After remarks, my file is begining by :

defined('CBLIB') or die();

return array(

Do I have to insert it in this part ?

something like

'UE_EMAIL_HEADER' => 'Ceci est le debut du mail',

I really do not understand and didn't find the explanations I need.

Does somebody can tell me what to insert in the registration configuration CB welcome email content and what I have to insert in the language.php file...

I'm blocked with this subject since 2 days ....

Many thanks for help
