Help "session expired" bug / misconfiguration?

16 years 8 months ago #42236 by jameshills
Hi, on the site I am working on, demoline.net I am running into a problem and I am not sure if it is a bug or just something mis configured ... though I hope someone here might be able to help me.

When I try to register a new user I get "session expired" even though it is just seconds after I start the registration process.

I also get this same error when someone sent me a connection request using CB Connections.

Any help is appreciated,

Thanks!

James

So this is a common problem?

I did a brief search but couldn't find anything.

I had the same problem
you have to open comprofiler.php file (located in the components section) and around 1015 change the following

// simple spoof check security
cbSpoofCheck();
cbRegAntiSpamCheck();

to

// simple spoof check security
//cbSpoofCheck();
//cbRegAntiSpamCheck();

I have the same problem!

Are the two lines you gave to your last post same (or it is just my eyes playing games)?

I ran into this same problem with J 1.13 and CB 1.1. Your simple fix of commenting out those two lines worked like a champ!

I guess giving you karma is the closest thing I can do to buying you a beer ;)

I wonder if taking spoof and spam out of the equation has a darker side however...
