[#3017] including a php file during a plan registration ?

12 years 5 months ago #183246 by krileon

Any idea to correct this ?

I've fixed the script and confirmed it will no longer duplicate. REPLACE wasn't working as it should have and wrote an IF case for INSERT INTO or UPDATE for all REPLACE queries. The script is also commented if you'd like to review and understand the changes.

Do you mind if I quote you or mention this forum post ?

Use whatever you like as it's a public forum, but please understand my opinion is that of my own and not of Joomlapolis. :)

Hi Kyle,
We have a problem with the script mentioned, it is not correctly posting accented characters

For instance whenever I try to update the DB with a person called Agnès FI the DB fields are Agnès FI

Could you tell me what needs to be changed in order to correctly post accented characters ?

Thanks in advance

No idea, I don't have the original script. You'll need to review its source and determine what needs changed. It's likely the escaping, but you may also want to ensure your database collation is set to UTF8 as Joomla/CB are UTF8.

Yes all is set to UTF 8
The script is the one you attached and corrected a few posts above. I joined it again

I was wondering whether the data posted by CB could be wrongly encoded, which could explain the problem with accented characters

Could you check ?

No idea, don't see anything wrong. At any rate added a function to force mysql encoding to UTF8, which might do the trick. It's also possible the characters could be getting messed up on Joomla/CBs end before the script gets them, but I can't say for sure.
