Search in "module position" with checkboxes?

Search in "module position" with checkboxes? was created by LPent
Is it possible to create a search in a "module position" (e.g. user1 or left) with pull-down boxes where one can choose 3 or 4 search criteria and then hit a search button?

It's possible, but am not aware of such module being done at this time. The search is just a URL built properly (search a list and you'll see all the params in the URL). So it'd be relatively easy to create a form to do just that.
