Search criteria for connections?

14 years 4 weeks ago #130981 by kevinrice1
Search criteria for connections? was created by kevinrice1
Hi

Is there a parameter we can pass in the URL to limit search results to connections only (and not connections only), or a way to add this into CB userlists?

What I need is a simple way to:

1. Search connections only
2. Search users who are not connections

Basically, search existing friends or find new friends.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

There is no search criteria for it, but it is possible to create a userlist with a filter to filter out already connected or pending connection users. Please see the following advanced filter.

[code:1]
( SELECT `memberid` FROM `#__comprofiler_members` WHERE `referenceid` = [user_id] AND `memberid` = ue.`id` ) IS NULL
[/code:1]

Thanks for the response! What do you mean by create an advanced filter? Where would I do that?

An advanced filter is used to filter a userlist by specified query criteria. Please edit your Userlist at Joomla Backend > Components > Community Builder > Userlist Management. You'll need to then select the Advanced Filter radio and copy/paste/save the provided query in my above post.

Wow, can't believe I missed that, thanks! Will searches run from that list page still include the filtering from the advanced filter, or does all filtering get reset with GET when you run a search anyways?

Filter remains even after searching the list; it's permanently a part of the userlists query (unless you remove it of course).
