[SOLVED] upgrading from 1.2.1

[SOLVED] upgrading from 1.2.1 was created by rctelles
I have always had date/time stamp problems on my Joomla/cb website but I have always found a "fix" or workaround. Im afraid that is going to cost me some trouble.

Things I think might be conflicting with the time/date stamps. Some have time settings, some dont.

I use Joomla 1.5.15
uddeIM 1.9 (old)
Kunena 1.5.9
AlphaUserPoints 1.5.5 (no time settings)

When I upgraded to CB 1.2.2 it messed everything up big time. The time displayed was anything between 1-6 hours off for user lists, AUP points being calculated, and PM's being sent.

Although, the AUP PMs for most AUP rules did display the correct time.

Regards,

Richard

I tried to keep all the time settings the same but I guess that wasnt enough.

I have reverted back to CB 1.2.1 in the meantime because at least the time was more accurate before I upgraded. I can provide anyone willing to help with more information and the url to the site.

CB 1.2.2 sets the time via database in the same manner Joomla does; please check your database and ensure the database values are correct. Also check that you've properly set your Joomla Global Config time offset correctly. The offset is based off the servers location, not yours. You also did not mention what dates or times are not set correctly; registration, lastvisit, etc...?

On cb userlists when I upgraded instead of last online of "now" it would say "60 minutes" when someone logs in. If I update profile it says updated six hours ago even if it was immediately.

Uddeim showed the time wrong also. In uddeim i have the time setting to -6 for it to show the right time but I tried putting it back to 0 after the upgrade and it still didnt work.

My server time setting is set to Central Time Zone which is where I am sure my server is located. The users can change the time in their profile, but it seems to not make a difference.

For some reason though, after the upgrade. the only time displayed right is the AUP points stamps. Except for new user, which was saying nov 1999! That is what finally made me change back to 1.2.1. At least it looked right.

Thanks for responding kril.

Please PM backend access and will take a look when time permits. Am not able to duplicate on local or live installs.

Info sent krileon. Whenever time permits is cool. Im cool with 1.2.1 as long as the time shows roughly correct.

I am excited about the possibility of adding facebook connect though:woohoo:

Please create a up to date backup and upgrade to CB 1.2.2, can not investigate a CB 1.2.2 issue on a CB 1.2.1 install. Am not able to duplicate locally. It is suggested to set the offset in Joomla Global Configuration to 0 (currently you've it set to -6). Then let users control their offset via the params field (see field management).
