two log in screens- why??? was created by ginestre
If I get my login wrong, another log in window opens WITHOUT erasing the first. This looks terrible and affects usability massively: having 2 different sections on screen at the same time for the same purpose is just shoddy. What have I configured wrongly?

Another login window? There is no login window. If login fails it sends the user to the login page, which you might have a login module present giving the impression of 2 logins. The redirect is done so validation errors can be display. There is no configuration option to disable this, sorry. You'd need to create a new Joomla or CB plugin to redirect away from this page or something.
