[SOLVED] Users groups in CB was created by eran10
hi i want please to know if there is an option in CB that i can create for each category a community where i can put there all the information that belong to each category includeing articules and importent messages and many more ? vut the main structure for each community will be the same
can i do it on CB ?

CB is not a group or ACL management extension. In order to place users into different "types, categories, etc.." whatever you prefer to call it you'll need to manually edit the user and change their usegroup, or create a new field such as a drop-down with different values to specify them as a different type, or user CBSubs (probably best approach if you want to restrict access based on their type).

My "registered user" group is populated. If I change a person's user group from Registered to Author, I lose their profile on the front end. I also can't select both Registered and Author. Please help me with this. I am using Joomla 1.5 and CB 1.2.3.

What do you mean by this? What happens to their profile? Any error? Tested working fine, seams a configuration issue.I lose their profile on the front end.
That's not possible in Joomla 1.5.x. Only Joomla 1.6.x (not yet completely supported) will support multiple access levels.I also can't select both Registered and Author.

I see. Yes, configuration at List Management level.
You can select more than one user group in List Management. So I selected Registered and Author and now those users with either of these group designations show up in the searchable lists. Thank you.
