Legacy plugin and mod_cblogin was created by homocuneensis
I read here on these boards that the legacy plugin is no longer needed for CB to work.
So I tried to disable it and the result is that when a user try to log in gets a "Direct access to this directory is not allowed" error.
Does anybody know how I can solve that?

Legacy is not needed for CB 1.2.3.
Just install on a clean Joomla 1.5 website to see for yourself.
Obviously you have something else installed that needs legacy enabled.
Maybe some other CB plugin that was installed over CB core component.
