Lost Birthday Support after 1.8 upgrade

Lost Birthday Support after 1.8 upgrade was created by cxt
I upgraded to community builder 1.8 now on my site profiles the birthday field says type="hidden"> you are also unable to edit the field on your profile....Any suggestions
